YouTube Music is one of the applications that has introduced more functions this months. The application has introduced collaborative playlists, also available in Spain, as well as new integration with Shazam for a few days. The app is preparing to change your home screen shortly.

The app seems to take note of Spotify, which shows you custom playlists depending on the mood or place where you are. YouTube Music is preparing to introduce a similar option to its Android application, which is already starting to show for some users.

YouTube Music releases playlists

YouTube Music is testing these new lists playback with some users, so it is expected to reach more users soon. The application will introduce a series of themes just below the search bar, with which you can filter music based on the situation you are in. The options now displayed are Workout, Focus, Relax and Commute (training, concentration, relaxation and public transport / on the go).

When entering any of these topics, the app takes you to playlists that fit that theme. These playlists are a mixture of automatically generated lists based on your tastes, as well as lists specifically created by the application for this specific theme or mood. As you listen to them, they will adjust more to your tastes.

When you click on the bubbles, the header gets a background image that represents the topic. Each section has a general playlist, representing that topic, which will be baptized as Supermix. Also, YouTube Music has more lists within this topic, which will be Mix 1, Mix 2 and so on. They follow the same style that we have seen on Spotify in the playlists.

For now, only a few users have access to these new YouTube Music playlists. It looks like this new home screen and playlists are being released from the server side, so it will probably reach more Android users over the next few days.
