Android 11 is the latest version of our preferred mobile operating system in Spain, a version already available on Google Pixels and with plans to reach various devices. This version includes a new menu for home automation, and far from being an exclusive option for Google services, brands like Xiaomi are already able to take advantage of it.

Like every manual update, Android 11 includes a series of new features focused on improving performance, security, privacy and others that are directly new functions that make it easier to interact with technology.
One of the most striking is the change in the power menu, which has gone from being a window with three buttons to becoming a complete menu, adding our Google Pay payment cards, as well as our home controls.
These controls worked with the devices that we had integrated into the Google Home platform, letting us understand that it would be a menu intended solely for Google services, but ultimately it will not.

As reported in XDA Developers, the application has begun to receive smart home controls with the update to version 5.8.33 (available in APK format in ApkMirror). If you have a mobile with Android 11, when you press and hold the power button you will have the possibility to choose between your Google Home homes, as well as the Xiaomi Mi Home application.
It is expected that in the coming weeks, the different home automation applications will be updated, with Amazon Alexa being one of the most anticipated, having become the home automation center of many homes thanks to the overwhelming success of Amazon Echo speakers with Alexa.
