Every year Qualcomm to design a processor for high-end mobile that will come out early next year. Currently, for example, the best mobile used the Snapdragon 865 that we saw announced at the end of 2019.
However, in the second half of the year the american company tends to refine the processor slightly increasing the clock frequency and by making some changes. Are enough to change the name but do not like to start a new nomenclature. Are the versions plus.
So is the Snapdragon 865 Plus
Today we have seen not one, but two news items regarding the use of the successor to the Snapdragon 865 in two terminals designed specifically for play. The Snapdragon 865 Plus is the chipset which, apparently, will use the ASUS ROG Phone 3 and the Lenovo Legion.
A few hours after the own Qualcomm has announced officially the new processor. And it is no coincidence that we have focused on the capabilities of the game with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming.
This processor focuses on tasks related to games, thanks to systems such as upgrades of the GPU through software, rendering similar to that of the desktop computers, online game fluid using 5G, and support for displays of 144 Hz in addition to technology, True 10-bit HDR.
What differences are there with respect to the Snapdragon 865
The own Qualcomm has focused on the differences with respect to the model of the past year in three key aspects:
- More power: the main core of the chipset called Qualcomm Kryo 585 CPU runs no less than 3.1 GHz, which implies a 10% higher speed with respect to the previous model.
- Better graphics: in the same way, the GPU, the Qualcomm Adreno 650 GPU, also improves a 10% the speed of graphics rendering.
- Mjor connectivity: finally, the compatibility with the technology Qualcomm® FastConnect™ 6900 offers speeds Wifi up to 3.6 Gbps.
The own Qualcomm has used its press release to confirm that the first two phones that use it will be the ASUS ROG Phone 3 and the Lenovo Legion.
