WhatsApp is the most popular messaging application in Spain and although it frequently receives updates with improvements, it is still behind in functions compared to rivals such as Telegram or even Messenger, an application that also belongs to Facebook.

Multi-account support has been one of the most requested features by WhatsApp users, and after appearing as a feature in development, it seems that it will be among us very soon, since the function is already much more advanced. We know the main details of this new function.

One of the features that we miss the most from WhatsApp compared to Telegram or other rivals is the support to use the application simultaneously on several devices. Although it seems like something simple to implement, the use of end-to-end encryption makes it much more difficult to have the account active on several devices at the same time. It is also the reason why WhatsApp web requires that our mobile is active and connected to the internet to function.

However, the complexity of multi-account use without giving up encryption (remember that although Telegram has a multi-device, secret chats only work on the device on which we start the conversation) seems to be already resolved, and the beta application already hides several details hidden from the app.

The name of the function is calledLinked devices, and it would allow us to connect our WhatsApp account on a computer, tablet or Facebook Portal (and maybe in the future, also on a watch). As soon as the device is linked, an interface will appear that indicates that the device is synchronizing, receiving all the chats, contacts and files that we have in the main account.

Once it is synchronized, any message that we send or receive will reach both devices simultaneously and it is no longer necessary for the main mobile phone to be connected to the internet or even on, something that gives a lot of play when we have to work in places where coverage not too good.

Another possibility that the application has is that, from the main mobile phone, we can manage all the active sessions, seeing when it was accessed for the last time. Hopefully, for the final version we can also close these sessions remotely, a mandatory security tool.

The entry Soon you will be able to have WhatsApp on several devices at the same time, even with your mobile turned off, it appears first in The Free Android.
