Signal is a messaging application that probably sounds like many users in Spain. At the beginning of the year the European Commission recommended that its workers use this app, as it is the safest and most private option in this field. This application is now updated with an important novelty, to compete with other apps such as WhatsApp.

Group calls go official on Signal. As usual in the app, privacy is your main concern, which is why these group video calls feature end-to-end encryption. These new calls are officially deployed in the Android app.

Signal is updated with group video calls

Group video calls on Signal are free, private and with end-to-end encryption, as the firm announced today with the launch of the feature. These group calls are entered in all group chats that are had within the messaging application. For now, video calls are limited to a total of five participants, although the app is working on increasing this number shortly.

When entering a group chat in the app you will see that a video call icon appears at the top. When a call starts, the rest of the group will be notified, so they know that the video call has started. If you start the call or join it, you will see all the participants in it in a gallery at the bottom.

Signal provides users with the possibility to swipe to change the viewAlthough the app puts on the screen who is speaking at any given moment, so that you will see the person who is speaking in a bigger way. The application will detect who is speaking to change the view as this occurs.
