Voice messages are becoming more and more common in messaging applications such as Telegram. It is not uncommon for one of your contacts to send you a voice message that is very long and you do not have the time or desire to listen to it, due to that duration. The application allows you to increase this playback speed, something that for many makes it more convenient to reproduce that message in your account in the app. The steps for this are:

Open Telegram on your phone.
Go to the chat where they sent you that voice message.
Press the Play button to play that voice message.
Look at the top of the chat, below the other person’s name.
Click on the button that says 2X.
Playback speed is increased.

This will allow those voice messages that someone has sent you play at twice the normal speed. In addition, all the voice messages that you play from now on will be played at twice the usual speed. To make them play back at normal speed you will have to repeat this process, pressing again on that button that says 2x, so that normal playback returns.

This is a simple trick that can help you suffer less with those voicemails too long that we sometimes receive in applications like Telegram. This can be done in both the desktop and mobile versions of the application.
