How to play Xbox Game Pass Ultimate games on your Android TV

Microsoft yesterday made official the arrival of video game streaming to Xbox Game Pass for Android devices in Spain and 21 other countries. Thanks to this service we can play more than 160 console games from our Android, be it mobile, tablet or even, yes, Android TV.

We explain step by step how to install Xbox Game Pass on your Smart TV with Android TV to be able to have an Xbox in your living room, even if you don’t have the console.

Install the Xbox Game Pass APK file

Although Android TV has access to the Google Play Store application store, it only supports applications that are optimized for use on television. The Xbox Game Pass application, despite working perfectly on Android TV, as it does not have a television interface, it cannot be found in the store, which forces us toinstall the APK file manually.

Here we have several options, such as downloading the file on our mobile from the Play Store and using it or downloading the application directly from pages like APKMirror. Keep in mind when downloading the application that, unlike on mobile devices, most Android TVs on the market are 32-bit, so if you don’t download the file whose architecture is listed as armeabi-v7a you may not be able to install it.

In order to install APK applications on Android TV, it is necessary, first of all, to go to the Play Store of the Android TV itself. From here, we will have to install three specific applications, each one of them fulfilling one of the three steps to follow:

The first,we need an APK file. The most direct way to have it on your device is by using apps like Send Files to TV. In this article we explain in depth how it is done in a simple way.
One aspect to improve about Send Files to TV is that, although it can open images, it cannot do the same with APK applications. To install it we will have to use a file explorer. There are many applications, in our case we recommend:
- FX Explorer.
- Solid Explorer.
Once the application is installed, it will probably not appear on the home screen. You will need alauncher to access applications. In the Play Store for Android TV there are many models
- ATV Launcher.
- App drawer.
- Sideload Launcher.
