Download only the audio from podcasts on Spotify

Users on Spotify have the possibility to download podcasts on their phones, in order to listen to it without the need for an Internet connection, whenever and wherever they want. The problem is that when you want to download this podcast on video, its weight will be excessive, as it is a file that includes both video and audio. Many users do not want to download the video, since all they are interested in is the audio.

If you want to download a podcast on your phone and it turns out to be one with video, the app gives you an option to download only the audio. This will allow the download to be less heavy, faster and take up less space on your device for it. If you want to be able to download only the audio, you have to configure this option first, following these steps:

Open Spotify on your phone.
Click on the gear icon in the upper right.
Go to the first section on Saving data.
Activate the option Podcasts with audio only.

By having this option activated in your Spotify account, when you are going to download a podcast on your Android phone and it is a podcast with video, only the audio will be downloaded. This will allow you to consume less mobile data when making these downloads, in addition to making said download faster, since the audio weighs less than the video. Once this is done, the podcast will play normally, with just the audio.
