Block an entire prefix on Huawei

Blocking an integer prefix assumes you can block calls coming from a certain country. If there is a scam going on involving phone numbers from a specific country, you can use the Huawei app to block it. It is a somewhat more radical option than blocking just one number, but it may be useful for some users with a Chinese brand phone. If you want to use this option, the steps are:

1. Open the Optimizer app on your Huawei phone.
2. Click on the Filter option.
3. Click on the gear icon at the top right.
4. In the new window that opens, go to the Black List section.
5. Click on the Add button at the bottom of the screen.
6. Select the Filter prefix option.
7. Enter the prefix you want to block (in international format, that is + (prefix)).

Once this is entered, your Huawei phone with EMUI will automatically reject calls that come from said prefix. You will not have to do anything else to avoid these types of calls on your phone. Whenever you want to add more prefixes, you can do it by following the same steps that we have shown now.

The advantage of this system, as indicated when we carry out the last step, is that the calls and messages from unknown numbers that begin with that prefix. This means that if you have a phone number in your address book that begins with that prefix, that number could call you, since it is not an unknown number.
