You have to bear in mind that, if you don’t have it, many applications and websites will not work on your computer, so, without further ado, we also recommend that you update the program whenever it prompts you to keep your computer safe.
Download and install
Once you know what it is and what it is for, if you have convinced yourself of its usefulness and want to get hold of this technology on your computer, we will tell you how to do it step by step. You can do it on devices Windows, Mac, Linux, and Solaris, each of them has its peculiarities and process, but in all of them you will find its practical use from the moment you have it on your computer.
Although the instructions may at some point be based on a recent version, you can orient yourself to future versions by renaming the previous version to a newer one. Following the steps that we show you below, you can easily download it to your computer, at few steps and without complications.
Windows
The time will come when you need Java on your computer because it is requested, or maybe you want to have it already because it is of your interest. Therefore, we are going to tell you how you should proceed to get this technology on your computer. This can be manual or online, depending on your interests, if you want to download it later or if you are going to do it on a computer without an internet connection. The link is the same, the only thing that changes is the process in some small step.
In any case, you will not find any complications and you can have it in a few minutes. You should know that in case of using 32 and 64 bits indistinctly, you will have to resort to the 32 and 64-bit versions to have it in both. You need administrator permissions to have this software on your operating system.
Handbook
To do it out of line what you have to do is download the executable file with the necessary files for the complete process. You do not need to have an internet connection during the installation. The file can be copied so that you can continue on any computer when you need it, whether or not it has an internet connection at the time. You can keep it on your computer or transfer it to a pendrive or hard drive.

On Linux-based systems:
- Change to the directory where you want to install.
- Move the binary archive file .tar.gz (tarball) to the current directory.
- Unpack the tarball and install Java tar zxvf jre-8u73-linux-i586.tar.gz.
- Delete the .tar.gz file if you want to save space.
- Update the system information.
On RPM-based platforms:
- To become a root user, run the su command and enter the superuser password.
- Uninstall all previous versions of Java packages (rpm -e package)
- Change to the directory where you want to continue.
- Install the package (rpm -ivh jre-8u73-linux-i586.rpm)
- To update a package (rpm -Uvh jre-8u73-linux-i586.rpm)
- Delete the .rpm file if you want to save disk space.
- Exit the root shell without having to reboot.
Once this is completed, you must activate it in the browser.
Solaris
In the case of Solaris, you can get it from two forms. Solaris SPARC (32-bit) and Solaris SPARK (64-bit). It is found as a self-extracting binary file. You must select the one that corresponds to your architecture and operating system.

Java 11 conditions
