Google Maps is one of the most popular applications among users in Spain. The Google application is known for introducing a multitude of new features, such as the COVID-19 data layer, for example. This application is available in many languages, although by default it works in the language you use on your mobile.

There are users who may need to change the language of the application at some point, such as if you use navigation with more people who speak different languages. The new version of Google Maps now allows you to change languages without going into its settings.

This new function in the application has been expected for months, in October they began to talk about it, but it is now when it becomes official. Default, Google Maps uses the same language you have on your phone, but there are users who want to use some applications in other languages. The new version of the navigation application makes this easier.

A new option called App Language is introduced in the application settings menu, where you can change your language. This menu shows all the languages in which you can use the navigation app on Android. You will only have to select the desired language and the app will restart in that language. These are the steps:

  1. Open Google Maps on Android.
  2. Tap on your profile picture.
  3. Go into Settings.
  4. Go to the Language section of the application.
  5. Select the desired language.
  6. Wait for the app to restart.

With these steps, the entire application becomes in that language: the menus of the same, names of places and also the voice when you use the navigation in the same will be in the selected language. Whenever you want to change the language of it on Android you can do it with these steps. This feature has long been available in the web version and now Android users can use it too.

If you want to use this function, you just have to download the new version of the app, already available in the Play Store:
