Glovo, Just Eat, Amazon and the supermarkets online will be able to continue dividing despite the new restrictions of the Government

According to the Official State gazette published yesterday March 29, evening, today has entered into force a new Decree Law of the Government by which stop the “non-essential activities”, between today, march 30th, and April 9,. What many may not be clear is what is considered essential and what is considered an accessory.

In that sense, we wondered if the home delivery of Glovo, Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats would still function with relative normality. Other questions that we had were related to e-businesses such as Amazon and supermarkets online as Mercadona, Day or Carrefourthat these days of quarantine have a soaring demand and have already removed the option of sharing in many municipalities.

What says the Decree Law on these activities

In the annex of the “Royal Decree-law 10/2020, of 29 of march, by which regulates a permit paid recoverable for workers employed by others who do not provide essential services, with the aim of reducing the mobility of the population in the context of the fight against the COVID-19”, can we read what activities will not apply the restriction imposed from today until Holy Thursday.

So, we understand that businesses like restaurants that make deliveries to home can still operate. And this implies that services with those who do delivery, Just Eat, Glovo and others, can still deliver.

The stores will only be able to work with the stock they already had before the stoppage of factories, but the closure of shops makes their stock is large

Given that the delivery companies used by Amazon, PcComponentes and other e-commerce platforms continued to operate since the declaration of the state of alarm, now will continue to do so, as “service of transport of goods”. The point 24 is applied to stores and dealers of Amazon and the like, as well as what is acquired by supermarkets online.

The role of the latter is also collected at point 2: “for Those who work in the activities that are involved in the supply chain of the market and in the the functioning of the services of the centres of production of goods and services of first necessity, including food, beverages, animal feed, hygiene products, medications“.
