Huawei is currently in a in pass with the change of administration in the United States government. We do not know what will happen when Biden resumes relations with China, if that will affect how Huawei operates in Spain and other international markets.
While it is clarifying, the firm continues to update its mobiles, although at the moment it does not make the version jump, as was normal in previous years.
Despite not offering Android 11, Huawei has developed EMUI 11 for its latest high-end phones, the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro and the Huawei Mate 30.
EMUI 11 deployment is global and does not stay in China
Contrary to other times, update OTAs are reaching various western countries. The first in which this update has been seen is Turkey, where several users have reported the update of these models.
This version occupies 1.1 GB and updates the mentioned mobiles to EMUI 11, the latest version of the Huawei layer. Despite the name, this interface runs on top of Android 10 since the interruption of relations between Huawei and Google has made it impossible for the firm to have Android 11 ready.
In addition, it is very possible that this is the last version of Android that the P40, P40 Pro and Mate 30 see since in December the first beta of Harmony OS is released, the new Huawei operating system that can be installed on these devices.
There are still too many variables to consider and we do not know if Huawei will finally launch Android 11 if it has the approval of the US government. Meanwhile, we will wait for EMUI 11 in the rest of Huawei phones, especially in those that still have access to Google services.
The EMUI 11 entry begins to arrive on the Huawei Mate 30, P40 and P40 Pro appears first in The Free Android.
