Android TV changes its interface to look like Chromecast with Google TV 1

When Google presented its latest Chromecast model, it was striking that, despite having Android TV as an operating system, it did not seem so. In fact, even the name of the system was different, Google TV.

The reality is that the modification was, above all, visual, but it attracted a lot of attention.

When Google was asked about it, the company stressed that this would be the future interface of Android TV. Well, it seems that the future has arrived.

As confirmed by Google, users with Android TV will begin to receive an update that will change the interface of the main screen, making it more similar to that of Chromecast TV.

At the top we will have four tabs: Search, Home, Discover Y Applications. Next to them, further to the right, the icon of the Settings and the time.

But the biggest change is in the lower part since the content occupies the entire interface, eliminating the icons and names of the sections.

In this area we will have different sections depending on the tab in which we are. Highlighting in the new Discover tab will invite us to watch videos, series and movies depending on our tastes but also on the trends that Google itself detects.

Obviously, these recommendations will be for the applications and services that we have installed on our television or set top box.

At the moment this interface is only available in Canada, the United States, Australia, Germany and France. It will arrive in other markets in the coming weeks.

The Android TV entry changes its interface to resemble the Chromecast with Google TV appearing first in The Free Android.
