Koalas, kangaroos and more animals come to Google's augmented reality

Google is one of the companies that is most reinforcing augmented reality in its products without launching new devices. In recent months we have been able to see in the search engine, both in Spain and in other countries, more and more models.

Among the former were animals and objects designed for education. On Halloween we even saw some models that were more useful for joking.

Today comes a new update focused on Australian animals, some of the most curious living things that we can analyze.

Kangaroos, koalas and much more

This new update does not require any changes and we can simply open the model in 3D or in augmented reality from our mobile when we search for them in the web browser.

In addition, we can reproduce the sounds they usually make, to know them a little more.

As in the rest of augmented reality models, Google allows us to take images or videos of them in the environment in which we are.

The added 3D models are 8, among which are the popular koalas or kangaroos, but also other even stranger animals. This is the list:

  • Koala
  • Kangaroo
  • Quokka
  • Wombat
  • Platypus
  • Emu
  • Kookaburra
  • Echidna

We can see it in real size, how they move, etc. To be able to view them we simply have to have a mobile compatible with the ARCore by Google and search for them in the browser or in the search widget that almost all Android phones have on the desktop.

The entry Koalas, kangaroos and more animals come to Google’s augmented reality appears first in The Free Android.
