Horror, police, mystery games …
They are titles that adopt different themes, something very successful due to the diversity of mysteries that this activity has. Therefore, we find games of different themes, which we can choose depending on the puzzles we want to solve, whether it is a crime, escaping from a kidnapping or finding a valuable object.
This is quite similar to reality, since the companies that start this activity usually have different offers with different difficulties and themes. In this case, we can choose between a kidnapping where we have to leave the room, with a touch of terror; crimes that have not been solved and we must look for the clues in a room; or a treasure that has not yet been discovered and that we can get.
The best escape room titles for Android
We are already going with the best escape room games that are available on Android, both outside and within Google Play. Obviously not all of them are there, but with the ones on the list we think there is enough catalog.
100 Doors Challenge
It is one of the few escape rooms that it is played vertically. Each level consists of a screen that must be overcome to open the elevator door and reach the next level. If the player gets stuck, he can skip the level by watching an advertising video. It is free and the developer has several similar games. It is only in English.
Adventure Escape: Cult Mystery
Haiku Games is an expert in the genre and has developed several games with great success. In this case Detective Kate’s best friend has disappeared after a date, trapped by a mysterious cult. The player must enter it to rescue it, advancing by solving enigmas. Advertising is not annoying while the level is being solved, although when it is passed it takes it out of the game and asks for an evaluation in the store. To get clues you have to use stars that are found on the stage or are bought with real money (the game is free), which means that you can overcome the adventure without having to pay anything.
Adventure Escape: Haunted Hunt
The action is in a Victorian London where vampires, werewolves and other ghostly beings exist who are being chased by a group known as Los Cazadores. One of those beings is Moira, a shapeshifter, which adds an air of graphic adventure since she can become the last animal that has touched and see the scenes from another perspective. Clues are obtained by finding hidden stars on the stage or by paying with real money. The advertising and star system are similar to other Haiku games like ‘Cult Mystery’. It has a very careful visual style.
All That Remains: Part 1
Halfway between the traditional graphic adventure and the escape room, All That Remains: Part 1 puts the player in the shoes of a young man who has been locked up by his father in a bunker from which he must try to escape solving a multitude of enigmas. So that the player does not have to be taking notes of the clues that he finds, it includes a camera. It costs € 2.69 on Android and 2.29 on iOS, but in return has no advertising or in-game purchases. It is also available in the Amazon store and for computers, both Mac and Windows.
Cabin Escape: Alice’s Story
Glitch Games became famous with a similar adventure: ‘Forever Lost’, and then has created several stories within the genre during the last five years. Alice’s Story precisely precedes Forever Lost, although it can be played independently. The protagonist, Alice, is trapped in a cabin.
It is free on the mobile version, with purchases of the clues to solve the riddles, and it is also available in the Amazon store. The version for computers, both Mac and Windows, sells for one dollar (0.89 euros).
Can you escape
It is the first game in a series of five, in which you can see settings like the Titanic or the end of the world (always within the same gender). In this case there are 12 rooms. Advertising is somewhat annoying because it kicks in every time help is called in. Solve puzzles and find all the hidden objects that you have to use in the rooms to advance to the next floor.
Cube Escape: Paradox
The Cube Escape series is one of the highest rated in the genre and has more than ten different games. In Paradox, Detective Dale Vandermeer awakens in a room and discovers that he is part of a strange game orchestrated by an ancient enemy. To get out of the room, you must solve increasingly complex puzzles. Its peculiar artistic style stands out. The first levels are free: to continue you have to pay.
Escape Game: 50 rooms
It’s a good workout and a quick way to understand the basic mechanics. In each room there is find objects and combine them with each other or with some part of the stage. For those who have already tried another similar game, it will be too simple, especially at the beginning. There are three games in the same series, all similar. In favor it has that it is free and against it there is too invasive advertising.
Spotlight Room Escape
Three chapters with 13 different rooms. The player can move from the beginning through several rooms, which makes the test more difficult. The style of the puzzles is very similar to that of real escape rooms and leads to looking for keys on one side and writing them down on a piece of paper to solve a puzzle that is in another part of the stage. As in classic adventures, you have to mark a point on the stage to bring the camera closer and interact. It’s available, free with in-app purchases.
The Room
It was one of the first escape rooms in mobile stores. Its magnificent setting led Fireproof to launch three more games in the series. The puzzles follow one after another as part of the mystery that the protagonist investigates (in each chapter you have to open an artifact that hides key pieces). On sale on mobiles for € 1.09. It is also available on Steam for desktop and on the Nintendo Switch store.
