Since Huawei lost access to Google services, it has determined a new roadmap in which they never plan to depend on any company other than themselves. To do this, they have not only created their own mobile services, but currently have their own operating system for their entire ecosystem, which they have called Harmony OS.
Although initially Harmony OS will reach the most recent flagship models of the Chinese manufacturer, the company aims to update most of its mobile catalog, from the highest range to more affordable and older models. To ease the transition, these phones would not receive EMUI 11 and would jump directly to Harmony OS.
Huawei would skip EMUI 11 on various mobiles in favor of accelerating its transition to Harmony OS
Huawei continues in its transition to Harmony OS, a system that will begin to be deployed on the company’s mobiles next April. This system, beyond arriving with the new P50, will arrive in the form of an update to several mobiles.
According to the latest rumors, Huawei would have decideddo not update several of your mobiles to EMUI 11 or Magic UI 4 (in the case of Honor phones prior to separation) to allocate these resources so that Harmony OS reaches as many mobile phones as possible.
As we have already seen in various analyzes, the version of Harmony OS specific for mobile devices is not designed from scratch as Huawei had given us to understand from the outset, but takes as a basis (we do not know if temporarily or permanently) many internals of AOSP, the open source version of Android. This would mean that the transition should not be as complex as it would be in a system where each component is designed from scratch.
Huawei talks about the resemblance of HarmonyOS and Android after the criticism receivedAfter showing the HarmonyOS design that was identical to Android 10 and the many subsequent criticisms, Huawei talks about its operating system.
The Huawei entry would skip EMUI 11 on older phones and upgrade directly to Harmony OS appears first in The Free Android.
