If you like a YouTube video very much, maybe you want to see it again and again, again and again. In the Android app, this can be done for now with a little trick: playlists can be looped, but not the individual videos.
This trick will not be necessary for much longer, if the little news they have discovered in XDA prospers. Apparently YouTube will let you play a video in a loop without needing to put it in a playlist first.

The text strings found within version 16.09.34 of YouTube for Android do not leave too much to the imagination. One of them talks about “Loop the video“, with other texts indicating that loop playback is on or off. Apparently, after activating loop playback you can quickly deactivate it from a snack bar (a message that appears and disappears after a few seconds).
The name of these text strings seems to indicate that it will be a menu instead of a button, so the option will likely become part of the ever-expanding context menu that appears when you press ⋮.
This little novelty will allow us play a video loop until further notice, something that until now was only available for playlists, but not for individual videos. The trick to achieving this with a specific video was, therefore, to put it first in a playlist. This step should not be necessary in the future, as long as the novelty ends up seeing the light of day, something that is never guaranteed.
