YouTube Music adds ‘quick selections’, to listen to a radio based on your favorite song

With the Google Play Music shutdownGoogle has been stepping on the gas for a good part of the year on its successor, YouTube Music. After allowing you to show in a different section the content you like from YouTube or let you listen to your uploaded music, they arrive quick picks, or * Quick Picks *, in English.

Rapid selections arrive to complement the custom mixes, allowing you listen to a radio based on songs you like quickly. It was possible before, of course, but you had to access it from the context menu.

A quick way to listen to “radios”

YouTube Music includes a new way to start listening to music. If you want to listen to a specific song or group, you can search for it in its extensive catalog, if you want the algorithm of the house to create a mix based on what you like, you can take advantage of one of its mixes in the custom mixes and, now, you can easily create a radio based on songs you like.

This function is called Quick picks, and are included as a block on the YouTube Music home screen. A list of several songs you have recently listened to – scrolling horizontally – is displayed and tapping on one creates a radio based on that song.

The song-based radio creation feature has been in YouTube Music for a long time, although it required opening the song, using the context menu, and choosing Start Radio to use it. These new fast picks seek just that, to be faster in putting something to reproduce not very specific, but yes based on something you like.
