The Xiaomi Redmi K40 starts with enormous power inside: the brand bets on the recent Snapdragon 870, an SoC that is basically the 865 with some improvement. Therefore, the processor maintains the high performance of the phone, also the high capacity in games and in wireless connectivity. WiFi 6, 5G and NFC, nothing hits in this part.
The screen chosen by Xiaomi is AMOLED for technology with the 6.67 inches of diagonal that mark the final size of the phone (and with less than 200 grams of weight). The front is well taken advantage of by the small upper hole for the 20 megapixel front camera, it lacks curves at the edges and offers high refresh rate (120 Hz) and fast tactile response (360 Hz). In addition, Xiaomi ensures that the screen of the Xiaomi Redmi K40 reaches 1,300 nits of maximum brightness.
The rear camera module reminds the one used by Xiaomi in the Xiaomi Mi 11: great presence of the main sensors (48 megapixels and 8 megapixel ultra wide angle) with space for the LED flash and autofocus. Also for the 5 megapixel macro telephoto camera, a photographic hardware auction that enables different camera modes within the application; app that comes complete in terms of functions, AI and beauty.
The Xiaomi Redmi K40 is finished with a 4,520 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging via USB C. Xiaomi does not skimp on speed in RAM and storage (LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 respectively), it offers Android 11 with MIUI 12, a capacitive fingerprint reader on the side of the phone and dual stereo speakers.
The phone is official in China, it can now be reserved and will be available in the country in different versions. The model will not be distributed internationally (surely yes to India), but most likely it will come to Europe under another name, such as Xiaomi Mi 11T (or perhaps as some variant of the Redmi Note 10).
