Xiaomi presents its first TV with 8K resolution and 5G!

At the end of 2019 Xiaomi brought some of its televisions to Spain. They were mid-range models with adjusted prices but that did not have the impact of their mobiles. In other countries we have seen somewhat more striking proposals, but none like the new one Xiaomi Mi TV Master Extreme.

Xiaomi’s first 8K TV

This model is the first of the manufacturer compatible with 8K technology and offers a quality commensurate with its very high price.

This screen is capable of offering a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and uses miniLED technology, with a maximum brightness of no less than 2000 nits and is compatible with Dolby Vision and HDR10 + technologies.

The resolution is 7,680 x 4,320 pixels and offers 960 backlight zones. Additionally, the panel supports 98% of the P3 color gamut and includes MEMC interpolation technology to improve fluency.

All the figures are heart attack

Its size and weight are also consistent with cost. The screen has a diagonal of 82 inches and the weight exceeds 87 kilograms. The sound is provided by a retractable speaker system with 80W power in 3 x 20 W and 2 x 10 W configuration.

It uses a Novatek 72685 processor with two Core A73 cores and two other Core A53 cores. The GPU is the Mali G51 and it has 4 GB of RAM and no less than 256 GB of internal memory.

A TV with… 5G?

But without a doubt the most striking thing that this television offers is the compatibility with 5G, something that we do not know very well what Xiaomi is going to use it for. It also has ac WiFi, infrared, Bluetooth 5.0, Ethernet, USB 3.0 and HDMI 2.1, necessary to squeeze the 8K resolution.

The future of MIUI is not only in Xiaomi phones, there is much more

Xiaomi has shown what the future of MIUI will be, beyond smartphones, in aspects such as 5G or the Internet of things.

It will use Android TV but it will run on it MIUI for TV, one of the variants of the Xiaomi interface that will be key in its future.

Price and availability

The new Xiaomi Mi TV Master Extreme will go on sale in China for nothing less than 49,999 yuan, about 6,300 euros to change. It can be purchased from October 21 but we do not know if it will arrive in Spain.
