When Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, a terminal that we hope will end up arriving in Spain, it also presented a new function that allowed to increase the speed of installation of games in a brutal way.
Memory partitions on Android: what are they and how many are thereWhat are memory partitions in Android? How many are there? Find out everything about this term and the importance it has on the phone.
RAMDISK, the new function of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra
This feature is called RAMDISK and what it allows is to install a game that we download to our mobile, not in the internal memory, the ROM, but in the RAM.
This is possible in terminals with a large amount of memory, as is the case with the Xiaomi flagship.
In this way the download speed is multiplied and allows you to play better and faster. According to Xiaomi, the speed of installation and execution of the game improves by 40 and 60% respectively.
As is logical, the counterpart is clear: as soon as we turn off the mobile or restart it, the game will disappear. This is so due to the behavior of RAM itself. Of course, the company allows the installation of the game to be passed from RAM to internal memory if we want to keep it in a more traditional way.
This technology is not new, it has been used in computers for a long time, but it is the first time that we see it in smartphones.
At the moment Xiaomi has only implemented it in the Xiaomi Mi 1o Ultra, although there is nothing to prevent it from reaching other models with a large amount of RAM, and in games such as QQ Speed, Glory of the King or Peace Elite.
If this function takes center stage it is possible that we will see it in more brands and that more developers update their games so that they can be installed in this way.
The Xiaomi entry allows you to install games in RAM: RAMDISK arrives on mobile phones, it appears first in The Free Android.
