Buying a mobile that is prepared for ROMs in Spain is not an easy task, but in case you are interested, XDA Developers is usually one of the reference communities. The popular developer blog and forum has decided to step up to create a smartphone, by and for the community.

For this, they have partnered with the manufacturer F (x) tec, with whom they have decided to create the Pro1 X, a unique mobile capable of making friends and strangers fall in love.

The first phone from XDA Developers, a unique terminal

The F (x) tec Pro1 X is a mobile that does not seem to belong to this era, both for the good and for the bad. It is a terminal with a 5.99-inch screen, in an 18: 9 aspect ratio and frames that, although they are small, are quite attractive compared to today’s standards.

In terms of performance, it is a high-end from 2017, with a Snapdragon 835 processor with 6 or 8 GB of RAM. It is still a good performance for day to day compared to mid-range mobiles, but compared to the current high-end it falls far behind, knowing that when it is available, the Snapdragon 875 will already be among us.

However, having mature hardware is not bad news when it comes to software. In this mobile we have factory LineageOS 17 and official ROM support, so it is expected that it has a long life cycle in this regard. If you want, you can also install a clean version of Android or Ubuntu Touch.

And Ubuntu Touch when connected to a monitor offers you a complete Linux desktop experience.

The horizontal physical keyboard it is surely one of the best reasons to want this terminal. It opens via a slide mechanism and is backlit, a great opportunity for lovers of a physical keyboard.

If you are interested in this terminal, it is available in an Indiegogo financing campaign that in a matter of minutes has almost achieved the goal. Depending on how long it takes, you can get one by contributing from 507 euros, with shipments scheduled for March 2021.
