Withings strengthens its commitment to hybrid watches, those that offer classic dial and smartwatch functions. After present it at the last CES in Las Vegas, the new Withings ScanWatch is already among us: it is an eye-catching watch, with stainless steel case and with a small screen on which to view all the information.
When it comes to choosing a new watch, we usually ask ourselves a dilemma: a lifelong one or better a smartwatch? But you don’t have to choose between one or the other either, since Hybrid watches like the new Withings ScanWatch offer the best of both: it is a watch with hands that also has a display. And with a ton of healthy records, including EKGs.

Attractive classic watch with smartwatch display
The Withings ScanWatch looks like a classic hand watch, on paper it is the heir to another of the brand’s hybrid watches, the Withings Steel HR. The design is very similar: the new watch includes a 38 or 42 mm dial (depending on the model) with two main hands for the hour and two smaller dials inside, one for the stopwatch (bottom, physics) and one for the digital display (top). This screen reflects the notifications of the mobile and also the different options of the clock, such as the distance traveled or the steps. In addition, thanks to this screen the user can see different parameters of their health analyzed.
The Withings ScanWatch offers heart rate reading, it can also become an oximeter to analyze blood oxygen saturation (SpO2). Also, the brand incorporates an electrocardiogram (ECG) scanner to complete the cardiovascular record on the watch. Quite complete to be a hybrid.
Apart from health records, the Withings ScanWatch automatically saves activity, sleep data, detects the practice of sports automatically (running, swimming and cycling) and analyzes breathing while the user sleeps. Too bad it doesn’t incorporate GPS: For outdoor sports practices, and whenever you want to save the routes, you will need to have the Withings ScanWatch connected to the phone.
Having a classic watch with a small digital display maximizes battery life while never losing out on basic watch functions. In this sense, Withings ensures that the ScanWatch lasts up to 30 days on a single charge and ‘normal’ use. In a matter of charge, it lasts around two hours; with 80% battery in about an hour (Withings data).
