WhatsApp continues to be the leading messaging application in Spain, and although its user share is more than enough to maintain a dominant position in the short term, to remain a leader it is mandatory to keep up with new features.
Vacation mode is one of the most anticipated features, a mode that has been in development by WhatsApp for some time and seems to be close to arriving. This mode has recently been renamed aptly and looks like it’s closer to coming.
WhatsApp vacation mode reappears in the application
The WhatsApp vacation mode has been a feature that has been one of the most anticipated of the application for years, a function that, as we recently learned, abandoned its name to integrate into archived chats.
The messaging application has published version 22.214.171.124 beta in the last hours, a version in which new data about the expected feature has begun to appear. Thanks to WABetaInfo, today we know the interface changes for the new archived chats.
Similar to Telegram, archived chats will now appear at the top of the chat list. The implementation of WhatsApp seems more successful to us, that is, since it occupies a small size and space (in Telegram, access to archived chats is the size of a normal chat).
Another change in the interface is the message that appears when entering the archived chats. This message tells us that the chats that we add to this list will remain muted in the application. Unlike archived chats present since 2014, archived chats will remain inside this folder even if we receive new messages (the current behavior of an archived WhatsApp chat is that when receiving a new message, the chat leaves the archived section) .
We still don’t know when the feature will arrive, but the hidden changes present in the latest beta are a sign that WhatsApp is working on this feature, and it may end up arriving before Christmas.
The entry WhatsApp vacation mode reappears in the application appears first in The Free Android.
