We have been talking about the multi-device mode of WhatsApp for a long time. Mark Zuckerberg himself, CEO of Facebook, and Will Cathcart, CEO of WhatsApp, confirmed a few months ago each account could be used on a total of four devices, something that already we have been able to test in the beta of the app.
Last year we also learned that that WhatsApp multi-device support for Android would allow us to use our account not only on different mobiles, but also on tablets. So far, we have only seen it on mobile phones and in the web version, but now WaBetaInfo ensures that, thanks to device mode 2.0, one of those devices could be an Android tablet.

Although many people already use WhatsApp on your Android tablets, so far it is only possible to do it via WhatsApp Web or downloading the corresponding APK. This is about to change because a multi-device mode is in place for the native application that can also be run on tablets.
WhatsApp you already have multi-device mode ready which is beta testable and will be available in stable release soon. Although at the moment there is no trace of the support for tablets, WaBetaInfo anticipates that the official WhatsApp application will have a 2.0 multi-device mode that will allow the iPad or an Android tablet to be used as one of the four linked devices.

That native version for tablets, says WaBetaInfo, is in development and will arrive in an update future (although it does not specify a release date). He has shared a screenshot with an iPad as a linked device in WhatsApp multi-device mode, but claims that it will be compatible with both the iPad version and the Android tablet version.
