What’s new in Google Assistant: change the voice, new notes in more apps and accessibility

The Google assistant is one of the most present in Spain, either through the majority of Android phones in which it is pre-installed or through the Google Home and Nest speakers. The voice assistant is no longer just a complement to the mobile, but it has its own evolution and trajectory, which means that it never ends evolving.

Google Spain has announced new functions that are coming to the voice assistant imminently, improving personalization in our user experience, as well as an extremely useful accessibility tool.

Voice change in Google Assistant, notes and screen reading

The most important change, at least according to Google, is the ability to change the voice to the assistant. To this day, the assistant only had a voice that simulated a woman, and from today we can switch between a woman and a man.

However, Google has wanted to save gender definitions in these assistants and instead of defining them by gender, it has done so by color, beingRed the voice that simulates a female voice and Orange the one that simulates the male voice. There will be people who find it okay because it removes gender lines and all that and there will be people who prefer to call itman or woman

But this kind of debate ends up with people of different thoughts calling each other nonsense, so let’s move on. Choosing by colors is fun and opens the door for new voices with diverse identities to appear without having to give them a new name.

Notes and shopping lists, from now on you can save your notes and lists in Google Keep, Any.do and Bring !. This is great and we hope that eventually any note app will have the ability to integrate into the wizard.

Finally, from now on if you tell the assistant “Read them”on Android, the assistant will read the web page, news or text that is on the screen. A simple, useful and effective accessibility feature.

These news begin to roll out and will be available to everyone for the next few days, so stay tuned.

The entry What’s new in Google Assistant: change the voice, new notes in more apps and accessibility appears first in The Free Android.
