VLC wants to remain the best multimedia player with a radical change in its designVLC for Android has received a new update in beta, an update that includes a radical change in its design.
The main change that we find in VLC is the bottom bar in the application, which dismisses the side interface in this way. In this lower bar are the video, audio, navigation and other functions. Thanks to this new bar, navigation in the application will be much easier, as it is a much more intuitive design for everyone.
The app introduces also changes in the video player, which now gets a more modern look, based on Google’s Material Design. In addition, some of its functions have been improved, such as blocking controls, downloading subtitles, tracks or compatibility with DVD and Blu-ray formats. The way the navigation screens are displayed has also been changed, and they now appear as a list instead of a grid.
Dark mode is another change in this version of VLC. Since it now turns completely black, not like until now, so users with an OLED screen can save energy when they use it in the application. In the audio player we also have a change, because now it will show us the total progress, that is, it will show how much time is left to play all the content in the queue.
VLC version 3.3 where we find these changes is finally released stably. This new version is already being deployed among Android users, available in the Google Play Store. Although it hasn’t reached everyone yet, it should be a matter of hours.
The VLC entry for Android is updated with new interface and dark mode appears first in The Free Android.
