Few social platforms are as established and have a user base as loyal as Twitter. The service led by Jack Dorsey has rolled out a host of new features in recent months, many of which were perhaps not in high demand.
But today we learned that you are working on one that has been waiting for a long time. Well more or less. The editing of tweets? Almost, the possibility of undoing a shipment.
One step forward, but not enough
It was the analyst Jane Manchun Wong who has published a GIF on her Twitter account that shows how the animation will appear on the application interface when we send a tweet, allowing us to undo the sending.

This function is very similar to the one that Gmail announced some time ago, and that in this service it is a very practical feature. On twitter? We do not see so much sense.
The reason is obvious. In Gmail we send a person so if we don’t want them to see it, we only have the option to undo it; once sent there is no going back. On Twitter, however, we can always delete a tweet if we have made a mistake in a word or simply if we want to delete it.
If this feature reaches direct messages it might make more sense, although using Twitter as a chat room does not seem like it is what the users who follow on the platform are interested in.
According to the published image, we will have 5 seconds to undo the submission, after which we can only delete the publication.
Waiting for the edit button on Twitter
This function is not the one that many of us have been asking for for years, a button to edit tweets that allows correcting grammatical errors, for example. It would be easy to do this by limiting the number of characters to modify, showing a link to the original version so as not to create misinformation with them, etc.
We do not know if Twitter will end up allowing this type of modification but it seems that if at one point in its history they have been open to it, it is in this.
The entry Twitter is preparing an option to undo the sending of tweets appears first in The Free Android.
