Twitter for Android starts activating the Direct Messages search bar after years of waiting

The social network Twitter has taken it easy enough to add a feature to our devices that they released on iOS and on their website in the summer of 2019. After almost two years of waiting, the Direct Message search bar comes to Android.

This has been announced by Twitter, which has begun to activate the Direct Messages search engine in its official Android application, also announcing that more news for this search bar will arrive throughout the year.

The Twitter MD Search Bar

The arrival of the Direct Messages search bar is good news for users who frequently use private conversations, as it will allow them to find your chats more easily.

Twitter is gradually activating this new feature through their servers, so having the application updated will not guarantee that we will have your new Direct Message search engine.

For now, and as it happens in the web and iOS version, the search bar only serves to search for people and groups. At the moment it does not allow you to search for messages but this will change in the coming months.
