This way you can configure the Google Assistant so that it does not respond aloud to your queries

The Google Assistant or Google Assistant is Google’s bet to compete with Siri and especially Alexa. And it is that the Amazon virtual assistant is the one that commands the triad in terms of potential and development. Therefore Google continues to improve its proposal with a great progression in Assistant functions.

Has it ever happened to you that you have gone to ask the assistant anything and he answered you out loud? At home it may not be a problem, but things change if Assistant starts howling in public. And it is not difficult to silence the assistant so that it only responds in text: it is enough to make a small configuration.

Prevent Google Assistant from using voice output

If you don’t want Assistant to speak out loud to answer your questions, you can take away his voice so that he only uses text. By activating this improvement, you gain privacy, since Google Assistant will not respond aloud to queries, although it will continue to show the instructions on the screen.

To access this option you must access the app “Google Assistant” on the phone and, once inside, press the “Explore” icon. The goal is to be able to enter the “Settings” of the Google account and the application.

Once you have accessed “To explore” you will see the icon of your account on the top right, on which you are going to do click. Access the section “Settings”. Inside, a menu titled “Devices with assistant”; and one of them is “Telephone”, on which you must press.

In “Speech input and recognition” you will see a section titled “Voice output”, that’s the goal. Once inside you will see that there is an option titled “Hands-free only”: what it does is change the voice output so that the assistant speaks only when you use a hands-free device, such as a headset with a microphone. Thus, the assistant will respond to the queries in text without using the phone’s audio at any time.
