As we have mentioned on more than one occasion, technology allows us to do more and more things, but true progress comes when it allows it to be more inclusive. Any tool that helps people with disabilities or illnesses live their lives with the greatest possible help is always worth mentioning.
Samsung has been collaborating with the Luzon foundation, dedicated to fighting ALS, to create an application called Tallk that can be used by ALS sufferers. The objective? That the tablet is able to speak for them using their eyes.
Samsung has collaborated with the Luzon foundation and with Irisbond to create Tallk, an application that allows ALS sufferers (although it can also be used by people with any type of paralysis) to speak through an Android tablet.
The operation of the application seems simple, but it has a great job behind it. Using eye-tracking technologies, the user can move between the application screens, being able to access a keyboard to say what they want, as well as being able to access predefined phrases or word suggestions.
In addition to communication tasks, Tallk is integrated with Bixby and allows users to access the Samsung assistant to make any questions or even use home automation devices connected to the Samsung Smart Things platform.
Tallk is a completely free application and is compatible with various Samsung A, S and Active series tablets, both modern and previous generations. The application is now available for download on the Samsung Galaxy Store through this link and on Google Play.
The entry This application for Samsung tablets allows ALS sufferers to speak appears first in The Free Android.
