Xiaomi has just made its new smartwatch official, the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite. This “reduced” version comes just over a year after the Xiaomi Mi Watch original, having in common the name, the appearance of the screen and not much else.
The Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite has been launched globally, being basically the same as Redmi watch that we knew a few weeks ago. It is a smartwatch with rectangular display, SpO2 and nine-day battery with typical use.

Although it could give the opposite impression due to the collaboration of Huami and Xiaomi, Xiaomi as such barely has a handful of smartwatches under its brand in the market. The first was the Xiaomi Mi Watch last year, which was followed by a version with circular screen (and same name), then it was the turn of the Xiaomi Watch Color that would end up being called Xiaomi Mi Watch in the global market. It’s confusing, I know.
The latest to join the party is the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite, which is itself the same hardware as the Redmi watch And that is more related to the latest Xiaomi Mi Watch than last year. It does not have Wear OS, but has its own operating system with limited applications. What does match the original Xiaomi Mi Watch is on the rectangular screen, although here it is a panel 1.4 inch 320 x 320 resolution LCD.
In smart functions, the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite is on par with the latest smartwatches on the market: it has a heart sensor with continuous monitoring, calculating the level of blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), sleep monitoring, and breath control assistant.
The watch can register eleven sports activities: outdoor walking, treadmill, cycling, outdoor swimming, free training, indoor swimming, cricket, trekking, hiking, walking and cycling indoors. To aid in the registration, it has its own GPS.
As for the battery, the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite incorporates a 230 mAh battery, capable of holding nine days with typical use or a 10 hour session of continuous monitoring using GPS. The watch weighs about 35 grams with its strap.
Xiaomi has included the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite on its global website, although it is not for sale at the moment. It is available with boxes in three colors (and straps in many more), although we still do not know what price it receives globally. We will update this post when we have more information.
