In Spain Android is the most widely used mobile operating system, but that does not mean that all applications are available on it. One of the most prominent examples is Clubhouse, an audio-based social network that in recent weeks has increased in popularity to very promising levels, leading to large companies like Facebook beginning to work on copying it.
Despite how popular it has become, Clubhouse does not yet have an Android app, something they should invest in in order to continue growing. But in the meantime, this success is taking its toll on an application that has nothing to do with the audio social network beyond the name.
Clubhouse for Android does not exist, and this application is paying the consequences
Imagine that you have a moderately successful application on Google Play, and overnight a new social network appears that goes viral, which has the same name as yours. Suddenly your application explodes in downloads and negative ratings, something that does not make sense and that is what has happened to the developers of the Clubhouse application, but not the one you think you know.
If I had to cite the worst feature of Google Play, it would beusers who rate the apps. In the case of Clubhouse it is very evident, since the application barely had ratings on Google Play and that has allowed its rating to be on the ground in a matter of days.
Is it because of the low quality of the application? No, simply users who have downloaded the application thinking that Clubhouse was already on Android, nor have they bothered to see that this application was not the one they were looking for and put a star because it is not what they thought.
It is not an attitude that should surprise us either, since most malicious applications act as copies of other applications so that there are users who download them by mistake. As Clubhouse has become famous, these types of users have been responsible for the exponential growth of downloads and poor reviews.

The Google Play Clubhouse is a project management application that was born in 2016, positioning itself as an alternative to Jira and Trello. In case there is any doubt, the company itself has a section on its official website in which they try to avoid any confusion with “other Clubhouses”.
However, in the end the situation may have served to get some publicity, and while I was learning about Clubhouse I discovered that it can be a great substitute for Trello, an application that I use today.
