Although Sony is not going through its best moment when it comes to mobile phones, the Japanese firm continues to launch new models and take care of those it already has for sale, something key to continue maintaining the trust of its customers.
Within this strategy, it has begun to update two of its mobiles to the latest version of Android. They are the Sony Xperia 1 and Xperia 5.
At the end of last year Sony published a calendar of updates for its terminals to Android 11. It indicated that in February 2021 the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 would make the leap but it seems that they have been ahead.
Several users of these models have received an update with version number 55.2.A.0.630 and with a weight of approximately 1 GB.
It includes the new version of Android, version 11, but also the security patch for December 2020.
For now Sony has not released what is the history of changes in this version, beyond the news of Android 11 that we tell you in video.
Some Sony users were expecting new advanced photography features in the camera app, but it seems that it hasn’t been implemented, at least in this update.
This update is being sent to European models so users who have it in Spain should receive it shortly.
The entry The Sony Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 are updated to Android 11 appears first in The Free Android.
