Chromebooks aren’t too lavish in a market awash in Windows laptops in virtually every price bracket, and Macbooks for those willing to pay a little more than the average, but they have found a good refuge in the education sector. That’s where Samsung is aiming with its new releases, the new Samsung Chromebook 4 and Chromebook 4+.
The two new laptops with Google’s operating system are now landing in our country at fairly contained prices for what they offer. 339 euros for the most basic model and 429 euros for the model with the surname Plus, although the best thing at this time is that we tell what features each of them offers.
Samsung Chromebook 4 for 339 euros
We start with the smallest of the two new creatures from Samsung, the Chromebook 4 without further additions to the name and that offers a processor Intel Celeron N4000 running at 2.6Hz and with the Intel UHD Graphics 600 in the graphics section. The new Chromebook 4 comes with a single memory option: 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal space partially occupied by ChromeOS.
This Chromebook 4 arrives with 11.6-inch LED screen with 1,366 x 768 pixels resolution and anti-glare treatment. In the multimedia section, it has stereo speakers, camera with HD resolution and internal microphone. The island-type keyboard and has an integrated touchpad.
Just over a kilo of weight for an 11.6-inch laptop and ChromeOS
In connectivity we find WiFi 5, Bluetooth and several USB ports, namely: one USB C port, one USB 3.0 port. It also has a microSD card reader in addition to the headphone port, which in turn is an input port for microphones. The battery of this Chromebook is 39Wh and has a 30W adapter for USB type C.
Weighing 1.18 kilos, the Chromebook 4 measures 287.9 x 202.3 x 16.7 millimeters and lands in platinum. The price of the Chromebook 4 is 339 euros, as we said before, and it is already available for purchase in the usual technology stores.
Samsung Chromebook 4+ from 429 euros
A little above the Chromebook 4 we find the Samsung Chromebook 4+ that comes with a processor Celeron N4000 running at 2.6GHz and with the same Intel UHD Graphics 600 as integrated graphics. Here we do have two options for RAM and internal memory to compose two models for sale: 4GB / 32GB and 6GB / 64GB.
On the screen we have a significantly larger diagonal, reaching the 15.6 inches with LED panel and FullHD resolution 1,920 x 1080 pixels, in addition to anti-glare treatment. We also have an HD front camera, stereo speakers and a built-in microphone, and the keyboard is once again island-style with a built-in touchpad.
We have to talk about connectivity and here we come across WiFi 5 and Bluetooth again, as well as two USB Type-C ports and a USB 3.0 port with additions such as the microSD card reader and the headphone and microphone input port. The drums also repeat with their 39Wh and its 30W adapter by USB type C.
The Chromebook 4+ is bigger and therefore heavier too. Here we talk about 1.7Kg for a laptop with 359.7 x 244.9 x 16.5 millimeters and that, again, is on sale in platinum. The price of the model with 4GB and 64GB of memory is 429 euros and can be purchased now.
