The renewed application "Photos" for Windows 11 is now available in the Beta and Release Preview channels

On September 8 we saw for the first time the renewed application “Photos” Windows, a renewed tool that a few days later we saw how could you try without waiting. And now, again with two almost two weeks in between, “Photos” Reaches Windows 11 Beta Channel and Release Preview Users.

“Photos” is no longer exclusive to those who are part of the Dev Channel of the Insider Program, users who had also been tested in a closed group at the beginning. If you belong to the Dev Channel or the Release Preview now you can try it officially.

Now on the Beta Channel and Release Preview

The new “Photos” app is rolling out for Insiders who are part of the Beta and Release Preview channel. An application that has a revamped design to better integrate with Windows 11, something that doesn’t make it out of tune in Windows 10 though.

Microsoft has done some deep work on photos, which has been revamped with new WinUI 2.6 controls, the Mica effect, and the new multiple photo view. The new app “Photos” comes with a cleaner and clearer interface and now, for example, it has tools to navigate the photo library like a carousel.

In this sense, if an image is opened in a folder, just move the mouse near the bottom of the window to see other photos in that same carousel folder. In addition, several photos can be selected from that carousel so that they are displayed in the same window in mosaic format

In addition, it now facilitates access to some editing options so that it serves for something more than a simple application that serves as an image previewer on our computer. The controls are now centered and float above the window and it is easier to access the information of each image with an information panel that is located to the right of the window.

If you are part of either channel, Beta or Release Preview, you can now download the new version of “Photos” in the absence of reaching all users who install Windows 11 when it is released on October 5.
