Samsung presented us with his second mobile fold, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flipat the beginning of the year, with a renewed concept, and a lower price, than the first Samsung Galaxy Fold. Officially the company has not commented on a possible Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2, although a patent obtained by Let’s Go Digital show his possible successor, with its two possible designs.
It is a patent registered in the Office World Intellectual Property organization (WIPO for its acronym in English) and show a device almost identical to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip the current, but with three cameras, with two configurations slightly different.
Samsung announced in their latest financial results in the second half of the year would continue to bet on the premium mobile as the series Notice and the mobile folding. Not included more details, though it would be expected that we had, first, a renewal of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, folding in horizontal, and later with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, which is folded in the vertical.
The details on the latter are scarce, although a few days ago were published the patent of “parts of mobile phones”. These patents seem to refer specifically to the combination of lenses and secondary display present in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.
In both cases we have a camera triplealthough one of the designs the lenses are in landscape, exactly as they were in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip original, and in the other are vertical.
This has a direct impact on the size of the secondary displaythat in the design with the camera in landscape would probably be smaller than the Galaxy Z Flip original (1.1 inch). With the design in the vertical would happen just the reverse, the secondary screen would have room to be a little more elongated than that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip original.
Patents, patents, so it is impossible to predict whether the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip -if it exists – opt for the design of the camera in horizontal, vertical, or something totally different. Being a new model, we do not know what the plans are to renew the series, so we don’t know if it will be a renewal annual or semesteral.
