The OnePlus camera APK previews the new modes to come: moon, tilt-shift, hyperlapse and more

With the latest OxygenOS updates Not only does the latest version of Android arrive, but also several of the house’s own applications, such as the camera. It is in the latest version of it where there are tracks of new shooting modes OnePlus is working on.

Between the ins and outs of version 6.4.23 of the OnePlus camera app there are multiple hints of shooting modes that are not yet present on OnePlus phones. Some might come up with the assumption OnePlus 9, although it cannot be ruled out that they will apply to current models in the future.

Tilt-shift

Of tilt-shift photography It is the one that we have more concrete clues about its implementation. The effect of shallow depth of field It is the same as always, with the advantage of being able to achieve it directly when shooting with the mobile.

The screens that explain how tilt-shift will work in OnePlus phones let us see how it will work: first, you must touch the part you want to stay focused and then you can adjust the angle, size and intensity of the blur.

Starbust

Text included within the camera APK seems to indicate that an effect of starburst, pop or flash. The text recommends using it when aiming at a light source, so most likely force lightning effect when aiming at a light.

Moon mode

There are several mobiles that include some type of optimization to take photos of our star. Everything seems to indicate that it will also arrive at the OnePlus, with different effects to adjust the color of the moon.

Hyperlapse

While the OnePlus can already do time-lapse videos, the code of the camera application tells us that the hyperlapse effect would be coming. The difference between time-lapse and hyperlapse is subtle: the former involves holding the camera steady and putting photos together, while the latter is take an accelerated video that is stabilized for smooth movement.

Focus peaking

Finally, there is a lone reference to “focus peaking”, he highlighted with some kind of color from the part of the image that is in focus at that moment. It is quite common in digital cameras, although not so much in mobiles, and it could come as an assistant for manual focus.

As always, the fact that there are mentions within the APK does not confirm that the functions will arrive safely in the future, as it would not be the first time that interesting functions have fallen by the wayside. We will have to wait to see how many of these novelties end up materializing.
