The new Photos for Windows application appears from the hand of Panos Panay with tweaks in the design and a friendlier interface

Microsoft continues to renew the design of its applications, in an accelerated process with the arrival of Windows 11 and now it is the turn of the Photos application, a tool that is already installed on computers and from which Panos Panay has already revealed his new design.

Photos wants to be the default tool that users use to access their photo album and that is why Microsoft has given it a new face lift with a new interface, new icons and in general with an interface that is more friendly and accessible.

Cleaner and friendlier interface

It has been through the twitter account, where Panos Panay has shown how will the application photos that should arrive soon to our teams. A tool in which they are working and that happens to integrate better in Windows 11.

Photos follows the lines of the tool that we already know from Widows 10, but now with rounded corners and a cleaner user interface, so that it integrates better with the aesthetics of Windows 11.

There are also changes in the interface of the editing tools, which are now less overloaded and offer a more sober and compact appearance. What’s more, the information panel has been modified that provides information about the image that is currently displayed, a box that now appears to the side when we edit a photo.

The application follows the guidelines of Fluent Design, something that is noticeable in an improvement Snipping tool, now full screen with some controls that leave the sidebar and occupy the upper part of the screen.

The Photos app should start arriving sooner at the Insider Program users for then take the leap and appear as available to all those who use Windows 10 and Windows 11 on their computers.
