One of the great novelties that came with the Google Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4 XL and that we have not been able to enjoy in Spain is the new generation of Google Assistant. The reason is because this new generation was only available in English.

It has been more than a year since Google introduced the new generation of the assistant (somewhat less if we count its departure officially) and it finally begins to expand into new languages. In addition to English, it will now be available in French, German, Italian … and Spanish!

Google’s greatest achievement with this generation was the compression of its neural engine, which took up only 500 MB and allowed the voice assistant to be able to process our requests directly on the device, without the need to be connected to the internet. , which reduced data usage and dramatically improved speed.

As told in Android Police, the new assistant is beginning to be deployed in Spanish, as well as in Italian, French and German. Of course, tools such as continuous conversation would not yet be available in these languages, although we can enjoy the new design and greater speed.

First in the Google Pixel

As is to be expected with every Google release, the new assistant begins to roll out first on the fourth-generation Google Pixels, including the Pixel 4, 4XL and 4a. The new assistant is supposed to arrive through a progressive deployment, so even if you have any of these mobiles it may take a little longer than necessary to arrive.

Although it is not confirmed, with total security it will also be present in the Google Pixel 4a 5G and Google Pixel 5 that should be presented during the next few days.

Regarding other mobiles that receive the new assistant, Google has not yet indicated much information about it. It is expected that little by little it will expand to more brands, as happened with the original Google Assistant, but at the moment there is still nothing clear.
