There was a time when consoles with Android They were a reality and we had some that promised a lot to finally end up disappearing without leaving too many memories, like the OUYA. Lenovo is one of the Android mobile manufacturers that has a line of phones gaming, the Legions. It is precisely in this range where a console that has just leaked would find itself, a laptop that seems to want to step on the ground in which the nintendo switch dominates with an iron fist. The name seems to be Lenovo Legion Play and it is a device that appears in the code on the manufacturer’s own website.

Lenovo’s futuristic Android handheld console, the Lenovo Legion Play, has a fairly recognizable format for those familiar with this market. We have the screen located in the center, a directional crosshead on the left side next to a joystick, and four action buttons and a second joystick on the right side. We apparently have triggers at the top, one on each side, and also a headphone jack.

According to the images uploaded to the Lenovo pages in Japan and Germany, the Lenovo Legion Play has a built-in microphone and has a USB Type-C charging port, and we do not have a charge. On the web there are also some more detailed features, for example a screen 7-inch FullHD and 16: 9 ratio compatible with HDR10, or the built-in 7,000 mAh battery, or it has dual vibration to enhance the haptic experience.

“Our developer program is open to all game developers,” Lenovo says on its page while stating that the Lenovo Legion Play will be available soon “in select markets”. Although it is not indicated which version of Android we have or if there will be a proprietary layer to turn the device into a console for all purposes, the presence of the Google Play Store makes it clear that it is a device from the Google ecosystem.

An important detail in terms of software is that the renders show the presence of the service NVIDIA GeForce Now on board, which opens the door not only to this service but to the use of the Lenovo Legion Play both for xCloud as for Stadia. We will see when this Lenovo device will be in circulation, although the proximity to the MWC in Barcelona next year suggests that we could see it there. Even at CES that opens in 2022.
