The Huawei Watch GT2 is updated with meter of oxygen in the blood

Few days ago Huawei launched a new smart watch based on a model of last year. It was the Huawei Watch GT2e, a cheaper version without interchangeable straps of the Huawei Watch GT2, a clock which we see at the end of last year.

So I have been using it as my clock all staff, in order to use it hands free thanks to its speaker and built-in microphones, and to receive the notifications that I believe in supporting, being able to always leave the mobile on silent and without vibration.

Yesterday the firmware of the watch was updated to version 1.0.6.26 and although there was no press release I was inquiring to see what were the news.

The Huawei Watch GT2 already has a meter of oxygen in the blood

My surprise came when in the main interface vi that, under the option of measuring heart rate was the measurement of oxygen in the blood, something that is integrated in the Honor Band 5 many months ago and which I missed in this watch.

To use it we just have to tighten the strap of the watch (if not the test will not run) and let the hand resting n a surface with the display facing up.

After a few second it will measure the heart rate as well as oxygen saturation in the blood. To know if we are within the limits of the interface shows a crown with three colors:

  • Green: it is within the expected parameters.
  • Orange: there could be problems.
  • Red: the oxygen saturation is too low.

Obviously this type of functionality is not a substitute to medical devices, but it’s good to have them always on top.

If you have a model of this watch and I have jumped, the only update you should go to the Health app of Huawei on your mobile phone and from there check if you have firmware updates pending.

The entrance to The Huawei Watch GT2 is updated with meter of oxygen in the blood appears first in Android Free.
