Is it true that I can buy the Pixels officially in Spain?
The Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 became official on September 30, and one of the news that affected us the most was that they would not be sold in Spain. If you want to get one, it is not a very difficult task, since you can buy them in other countries of the European Union without many customs difficulties, but we always find it more convenient in stores that are familiar to us.
That the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 are available in Amazon Spain seems the perfect option, since it is a large and proven store, with fast and free shipping if you are from Amazon Prime. Well that’s it, do I buy it there and have it at home tomorrow?
Before doing so, we have to remember thatAmazon allows other sellers to sell products in your store. This is known as Amazon Marketplace, and it is the reason why we can buy Google mobiles in Amazon Spain. It is not sold by Amazon, but by a foreign store from Amazon.
Is it safe to buy from Amazon Marketplace sellers? Usually yes, as Amazon has what they call the A to Z warranty. This warranty has nothing to do with the common European 2-year warranty for electronic devices, but rather a guarantee that the product you have purchased is the one you will receive. For example, if you buy the Google Pixel 5 and you receive a package that is not what you paid for, Amazon will refund your money.
In the case of the Pixel 5, the seller’s information gives it some credibility.
There are sellers who try us cheat. On some occasion, it is possible that they cancel the order and ask us to deposit the money in a bank account, something that we must avoid. If you pay through Amazon you are covered, and this is how you should do it, buying the product like any other. It is advisable to see the reputation of the external seller, to ensure that we will not have problems.
Delivery times are another aspect that you must to consider. We are used to the fact that any product we buy on Amazon arrives relatively quickly, but with products from other stores the delivery times can be longer. In the Pixel 5 example, free shipping has an estimated shipping time of February 27 – March 3, about 3 weeks and if we pay 5 euros it is 4 days ahead.
Although Amazon offers us certain guarantees, it is convenient to know the possible drawbacks.
Regarding returns, in third-party stores we have the possibility of returning the product within the first 30 days of purchase as in Amazon, but in most circumstances we will have to bear the shipping costs (or deducted from the refund). In the example of the Pixel 5, if we are not convinced we would have to return it to the store, which according to your data is in the United Kingdom.
And the guarantees?According to Amazon, all products sold on the Marketplace have a two-year warranty. Amazon does not take care of the warranty, but it is the seller who will have to take care of offering repairs, replacement or refund for free. If 6 months have passed since the purchase, the seller has the power to demand proof that the fault comes from a manufacturing defect and not from negligent use on our part.
Is it worth buying the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 in Amazon Spain?Well, knowing the conditions to which we are exposed, we know that we are going to receive the mobile that we have bought with full guarantee, with a shipping period of several weeks and that in case of problems, it will be the store that must offer us a solution (and between shipments and repairs, we may spend weeks with the mobile). If you wanted a Pixel 4a 5G or a Pixel 5, well that’s not bad.
