In mid-March, Google presented its second generation of smart speakers with a screen in the United States, the Google Nest Hub 2. This device was very similar to the original, but included a new technology that could change some aspects of use.
Google Nest Hub 2 controls sleep
This new speaker has a very similar design to the previous one, although there are internal improvements. For example, the sounds stand out for getting 50% more power in the bass, bringing it closer to the experience we had in the Google Nest Audio. The command detection quality has also been improved with the incorporation of three microphones, instead of the two that its predecessor had.
But the biggest novelty is in the integration of Soli, a technology that allows detect movements. This is usable to be able to pause and play content through gestures in the air, and also to measure our sleep.
For the latter, Google has worked studying the nocturnal behavior of hundreds of people. The speaker can detect coughs, snoring, number of times we breathe per minute …
It has not been made clear if it will be a permanently free service, although it has been confirmed that buyers of the new Google Nest Hub 2 will be able to use the sleep analysis service, compatible with Google Fit, at no cost during 2021.

In addition, the new Google Nest Hub 2 includes a thermometer to be able to control the temperature of a room, although it cannot be used to modify routines with the Google assistant rules.
