Geek, nerd and no-life are 3 names that are heard quite often. Almost everyone does not know how to differentiate them and considers that they are the same type of person. But what makes them different?

Geeks, nerds and non-life are people who are part of “a world of their own”. They prefer to immerse themselves in their world than to live in society. However, these types of people are quite different from each other. Therefore, they should not be confused to avoid scandalizing them. In fact, among other things, to tell a geek that he has no life is to insult him.

What is the difference between a geek, a nerd and a lifeless?

This is what differentiates a geek, a nerd and a lifeless.

A geek: a passionate person

The name geek (pronounced guik) is the most famous of the three. By definition, a geek is a person who is passionate about something. Usually it is about computers, video games, science and new technologies. They are also passionate about role-playing games and science fiction. Examples of his favorite things are Superheroes, Star Wars, Dungeons and Dragons.

He also loves to collect objects that have to do with what he loves. For example, we can cite figures of superheroes and t-shirts. He gives himself body and soul to his passion. This is intended to have as much knowledge as possible about the areas that fascinate you.

However, that does not mean that it is asocial. In fact, even if he is immersed in his world, he never abandons his studies or his friends. He also likes to form a community (geeks with a common passion) to discuss and exchange his views.

There are geeks who have different passions than the ones you woke up previously. We speak, among other things, of literary geeks. They are people who like books and works by a particular author.

A nerd: a rather withdrawn person

Unlike a geek, a nerd has no feelings for the world of fantasy and science fiction. It is limited to science (math, physics, and chemistry), technology, and computer science. As a geek, you are very smart and have very keen knowledge in the fields that interest you.

However, he is quite a withdrawn person. You really don’t like to share this knowledge. He prefers to stay at home to delve into them, or in front of his computer and the Internet. We recognize a nerd by his “old-fashioned” way of dressing and his big, thick glasses.

An unlife: an asocial person

Of these three names, a no-life is the most pejorative. As the name suggests, “it has no life.” He is an asocial person who has a total addiction to video games. In fact, he spends all of his time playing online games, resulting in almost total detachment from the outside world.

However, a non-life is not limited to video games, it can also be addicted to television or books. Thus, an unlife defines a person who is disproportionately passionate about something that causes him to withdraw into himself.
