The Galaxy Watch 3 is the last to arrive in its catalog, a high-performance watch, exquisite design and a price that is not for all audiences at all. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is updated with the improvements of the new model
When we analyzed the Galaxy Watch 3 we put a lot of emphasis on the similarity it has with respect to previous generations by having the same processor. This made it very likely that some of the improvements (those that did not depend on an exclusive sensor) could reach the previous models.
And so it has been, since the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is beginning to receive an update with some of these novelties.
VO2 Max estimate on Galaxy Watch 3.
The most important novelty, as the Active 2 is a more sporty profile watch, is the VO2Max estimation. What is that? Well, as our friend Pedro Moya explains:
Essentially, theVO2Maxis nothing more than themaximum volume of oxygen the body can process during exercise. In other words, the term refers to the amount of oxygen that can be used when breathing, and that therefore we can actually use when doing a sport (like running, for example).
Fall detection.
The sports app also reaches the previous generation, including the new and improved running training, as well as the detection of falls, which will notify our emergency contacts in case we have a fall and do not confirm to the watch that we are okay.
As usual, these types of updates are made through a progressive deployment, so it is possible that even if you have an Active 2 and click onsearch for updates, the clock tells you that there are no updates. The update may take a few days to arrive, so it’s a matter of days before you end up receiving it.
