OnePlus continues to be one of the benchmark brands in Spain when it comes to premium mobiles. We knew that the company was preparing its first smartwatch, which is expected to arrive in 2021 along with the OnePlus 9.
To this day we have many unknowns about what the first OnePlus watch was going to be like. Would it be a basic and limited watch like those of realme or a watch with less autonomy but more sophisticated in functions? Would it have a classic design or would it be inspired by the Apple Watch? Today we solve this doubt.

Knowing the history of similarities between OnePlus and Oppo, one of the biggest fears we had with the first OnePlus smartwatch is that it would end up being a watch similar to the Oppo Watch, a watch with obvious similarities to the Apple Watch. Ultimately, it doesn’t seem like it ends up being that way, at least not according to the company’s latest patent.
Today we know through an exclusive from TechnikNews what could be the design of the first OnePlus watch. This design has been submitted by OnePlus itself to the German patent and registration office, the DPMA.
The design shows a circular watch with a considerable screen percentage and a frame that at first seems to be part of the same glass, following a design similar to that of the Galaxy Watch Active 2. On the straps we can see two models, one made of silicone similar to the Apple Watch and a second that appears to be leather. The anchoring of the straps appears to be standard and not proprietary, a wise decision.
This would be the design of the OnePlus Watch according to the leak of the OnePlus health application.
On the side we see two physical buttons, without the presence of a crown, as well as what would be a speaker. In the lower area the biometric sensors and two charging pins are shown, ruling out the possibility that it ends up including wireless charging as the most advanced watches on the market, at least if the final watch ends up being like the sketches shown.
We don’t know anything about the operating system that it will include or its technical characteristics, but it is to be expected that as the weeks go by and the launch date approaches we will end up knowing all the details.
The entry The first OnePlus watch will not be a copy of the Apple Watch, according to this patent it appears first in The Free Android.
