Some basic Android tips

Smartphones are little gems of technology. There are many features that are still unknown to the public. So here are some tips to help you enjoy what your device has to offer.

The easiest way to make your battery last

We all feel like the phone’s battery doesn’t last.

The easiest way to save battery is to choose a dark or even completely black wallpaper. Since the brightness is automatic on most Android smartphones, you will see a noticeable improvement in battery life. You can also disable automatic brightness in the display settings.

Charge your smartphone faster

There is a way to charge your phone faster.

By activating airplane mode, the smartphone will not be in constant search for the network or connectivity, which will limit the use that is made in the background. Thus, it will allow you to charge the device faster. Note that turning off the device will also allow for fast charging.

An integrated game

The developers have integrated a secret game into the Android system, starting with Android Gingerbread version 2.3.

To access it, go to “Settings” and “About device”. Press several times and quickly on “Android Version” and when the version logo appears on the screen, tap it several times to bring up a minigame.

Take a screenshot

A basic Android trick is the screenshot.

To perform one, hold down the Home key and press the Power key at the same time. The screenshot will be saved in the image gallery, in a folder created for this purpose. You can modify these captures from your smartphone, thanks to the integrated editing tool.

Lockwatch catches snoopers

There is nothing more irritating than people trying to unlock a device that is not theirs.

The free Lockwatch application will allow you, on the one hand, to lock your phone. But the best part is that it will take a photo of the person trying to unlock the device to no avail. After a certain number of attempts, the front camera will turn on automatically. A confrontation, with photo support, will be possible thanks to this anti-intruder application.

Find your phone

Let’s say you have lost your phone in a specific location and it is also in silent mode.

We have all experienced this dire situation. Instead of returning the whole house, and if it is linked to your Google account, you may find a lost smartphone. Go to your Google account and click on “Find my phone.” Select the device and choose between ringing and locating it.

Delete data from a lost or stolen device

If your device has been stolen, consider protecting your privacy.

To do this, go to your Google account, go to “Find my phone”. You can then lock it, while displaying a message, or erase all your personal data from the lost device. This step is recommended to avoid the use of your confidential data.
