So you can earn rewards in games by watching videos on Twitch

Twitch allows you to watch live broadcasts of all kinds of content, but games are still its strong point, to which it is especially dedicated. That’s why they exist Twitch Drops, some rewards or prizes that allow players to receive something in return if they link their accounts and are watching live broadcasts of some channels dedicated to that title, with gameplays or tricks.

If you are a fan of a specific game and you watch video tutorials or gameplays on Twitch, Drops allow us to win some exclusive objects or coins that are automatically added to our account if we have both linked.

What are Drops?

Twitch Drops are rewards to earn the “loot of the game” for watching channels on the streaming platform. You just have to watch the transmission that has them to get them. They vary according to the title or the developer who can customize them to the maximum by changing the object you receive, the frequency or the channels in which you will be able to get them.

To get the drop in question we must be watching the channel at the moment in which it is going to be broadcast but it is not worth cheating. They explain it from the Twitch FAQ in this section: “You can only receive one from an active channel. Watching multiple channels at the same time won’t get you more rewards ”. You can get as many as you want in all channels or in one in particular, there is no limit although the maximum amount may be limited “by the space available in the inventory of some games”. Beyond that, you can get what you want.

How to get them

When a Drops program is available on a channel, you will see an icon like the one in the image below. You will see it on the channel page, in the game and in the browser and you will be able to enter to get it. You must link your game account to your Twitch account to be able to get Drops, these prizes that you receive thanks to the link. You can connect as many game accounts as you want to a single streaming service account, but they must always be different game accounts not from a single game. I mean, you can have multiple different game accounts for the same Twitch account if you want to get Drops but cannot connect multiple accounts of the same title to a single streaming account.

To link the account, the steps we must follow are the following:

  • Link your game account to Twitch if you see a notification that Drops are available. Just tap on it to go to linking.
  • You’ll see an account connection form on the developer’s website
  • Log in to the game account
  • Log in with the Twitch account to link them
  • Fill out the form
  • Go back to the channel where Drops were available
  • Keep watching it to win game loot

If you want to review them once they are already linked, you can go to twitch.tv/settings/connections and log in with username and password to check the different connections you have. Here you can activate or deactivate the one you want. You will see the accounts or connected services and you can tap on “Disconnect” or “Connect” depending on whether you want to keep them or not.

Once you have linked them you will be able to watch the video who has Drops and you will have to comply with what he asks. For example, spend 30 minutes watching that streaming. As you get closer to the reward, a progress bar may appear. When you get it, a notification will open in which you will have to touch to claim it. After a few minutes or a few days, you will receive the prize in the game.

Streamers with Drop

If you are a streamer on Twitch you may want your channel to have Drops included. But it is not you who decides but the developer of the game. The developer of each title is the one who decides on which channels that broadcast their title Drops are shown. You can choose to have them if you link your account in said game with your account as a content creator. Linking is the same as for any viewer but you can choose to have those rewards on your channel once they decide or you are selected.

Don’t you want to have them? You can unsubscribe so that they are never activated. You can unlink your Twitch account and that of the developer if you want but you can also temporarily deactivate them from the control panel of your profile as a streamer. You go to Control Panel Settings and “Spectator Rewards”. Here you will have to look for the “Drops” section to activate or deactivate them. Keep in mind that if you disconnect it from the preferences you will delete all the channel games, but if you unlink the account from a game you unlink only that and not all of them.

What games do they have?

How can I know if there will be? There is no general calendar on Twitch where you see which ones are going to be added but you can see it when a Drops program is available. You will see it on the channel page, in the game and in the browser. In addition, you can check the title developer’s website in case he does have his own calendar where you can see what they are, what they are, or what benefits they offer.

For example, Ubisoft has a section on Drops (or “drops) on its website where they give some details such as that you will receive it within 48 hours from the end of the event or the type of prizes you can win. As they explain in this section, “Each event will grant you a specific reward depending on the event. You can win things like Ubisoft Connect Rewards, game download codes or game items. When Twitch announces drop events, we will include a list of possible prizes. ”But this varies by service or developer.

The Warframe support website also explains some details about these prizes or rewards. You just have to log in to warframe.com/es with the account or platform with which you want to choose the Drop and link it by following the steps that you will see on the screen. What do you have to take into account? On the Zendesk website they explain that you must claim it manually when you see the pop-up message in the chat window that allows you to do so. A vwez that you claim it, takes 5-10 minutes to get to the Waframe account.

On the Rust de Facepunch website we also see solutions to the main Questions or doubts about the Drops like how long does it take. In this case, from when we claim them until they reach us between 10 and 30 minutes pass And it will not be necessary to have Prime either, but only a Twitch account and a Steam account that has Rust as a game in the library of available titles.
